ACCE Team Awarded the 2012 SCUP / AIA-CAE Excellence In Architecture Honor Award For a New Building

Edward J. Cuhaci And Associates Architects Inc. and Diamond Schmitt Architects in Joint Venture and Ellis Don were awarded the prestigious Honor Award in Architecture for a New Building by the Society for College and University Planning and the American Institute of Architects’ Committee on Architecture for Education (“SCUP / AIA-CAE”).
The SCUP / AIA-CAE jointly present the annual Excellence in Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Architecture Awards to outstanding projects developed for higher education institutions. The jury considerations include the quality of the physical environment as well as the comprehensiveness of the planning process. The Jurors are selected for their planning and design expertise from institutions and firms from around the USA.
SCUP’s vision is to be the premier organization for the advancement of integrated planning in higher education. Their mission is to provide its members with the knowledge and resources to establish and achieve institutional planning goals within the context of best practices and emerging trends.
SCUP supports integrated planning that is holistic, systemic, and crosses functional and operational boundaries. SCUP believes that effective integrated planning is rewarding, e.g., diverse issues are addressed and implications are understood. These are the attributes of successful, integrated planning.
