The design of l’École élémentaire catholique Notre-Place is based on previously constructed CECCE school, l’École élémentaire catholique Notre-Dame-des-Champs. These schools were designed to be architecturally inspiring, support 21st Century Learning techniques, and meet CECCE construction and design standards. The client was included in the design process. The schools’ designs are meant to be flexible, adaptable to different sites, and contribute positively to the community. Materials selected for these schools were sustainable and low-maintenance. It was specifically designed using a “Kit-of-Parts” concept for the flexibility to accommodate different sites and student populations, including future additions both horizontal and vertical.
